atoms = people.

So I was studying chemistry when I realized something: atoms are exactly like people! I find this rather fascinating and so I'm going to share. :)

1) They seek stability and "nobility."
Atoms want to be stable and have a full valence shell, whether this means losing or gaining electrons. This is also seeking "nobility" since they're aspiring to be like the noble gases, which have full valence shells and are very stable elements. People do the same. They need stability in their lives, and who doesn't want to be nobly recognized?
2) Opposites attract.
Just like with people, opposites attract. Ions of opposite charges attract each other to form ionic compounds.
3) They bond by sharing negative energy.
People often bond by sharing anger/sadness, or otherwise "negative energy." Atoms bond by sharing their electrons, which are their negative energies.
4) Short bonds = strong bonds.
The shorter the covalent bond between atoms, the stronger and more difficult it is for that bond to be broken. The tighter friendships people have, the stronger they are.
5) Sometimes, only one shares all the negative energies.
In dative bonding, one atom or element provides all of the electrons for the covalent bond between atoms. With people, sometimes only one person has negative energy to share, while the other person is needed to listen.
6) Unshared negative energies bends a relationship.
If atoms in a covalent bond have a lone pair of electrons, it causes repulsion and bends the other atoms in the molecule, creating a different shape. If people don't share certain negative energies, it bends and strains their relationships.
7) They affect neighbors.
With van der Waals' forces, temporary dipoles can create induced dipoles with neighboring molecules, causing an attraction between the two. People affect those around them as well (though whether this causes attraction or repulsion isn't always certain).
8) When they lose negative energy, they become more positive.
When atoms lose electrons, their charge becomes more positive. When people get rid of crap they're feeling, they become more positive, too.

I thought there was more, but nothing else is coming to mind right now. Hahah.
