flabberghasted.

Life is bascically one huge flippin' competition. I don't really understand it. People can't work together - they have to be better than everyone else. I mean, for some things it can be legit, but for other things it's like, honestly, why do people care so much about that? Seriously, we've been competing for SOMETHING since we were young. And as we get older, the competition gets harder. When we were kids, we competed to be the fastest runner, or to see who could play with the toy. Now, the legit competition is for the best grades, job interviews, and the like. But the stuff I don't get is why people compete to be the prettiest, most popular, most talented kids. Can't we all just recognize everyone's strengths? It's so insane to me how people go to such lengths to try to prove that they're better than someone else. I mean, that type of stuff really doesn't matter, but people make it matter. Anyways, then there comes harder competition like sports, college admissions, test scores, (harder/better) job interviews...dude, even love is a competition. WHY IS LIFE SO COMPETETIVE?! If I ruled the world, everybody would get along and it wouldn't be so competetive. But everyone would live happily ever after and the world would be filled with grassy fields with lots of daisies where children could run barefoot and play with the wild animals and be carefree. :]
